With a sleek circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competition's boxes, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our tests. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).
It's also the only robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully self-refill and empty its base station and it boasts the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self emptying base that can be washed.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, arrange an area for cleaning or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to improve performance. The app has a range of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it can reach corners and underneath furniture better.
